The existing Dowding Pool Facility provided the springboard for the future renovation and expansion to the pool, which was completed in 2004. The facility offers multiple slides, a zero-depth entry, and diving boards for all ages to enjoy.
The Dowding Pool reconstruction project presented a unique challenge. The proposed pool was to be placed in the same location as the existing pool, and was designed to keep the unique, round shape. Other interesting features at the Dowding Pool are two large concrete towers used for diving, which were cast in place. Accompanying the towers are two large water slides, a springboard for diving, and a zero depth entry for children which has unique play features. There is also a ramped concrete feature, with stainless steel rails separating the deep from the children's area.
