The Hastings Middle Schools exterior shell is constructed of precast concrete. The middle school pod system is where the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders carry out curriculum separate from the other grades, while sharing the common classes and areas, such as music, physical education, cafeteria, and industrial arts learning in the core of the building. The school has two gymnasiums separated by locker rooms.
