The press and distribution facility for the Lincoln Journal Star occupies an entire city block in the heart of downtown Lincoln. The building spans 4-stories high and 750 tons of steel material was used in the construction of this project.
This 106,000 square foot facility resides on 1 city block in downtown Lincoln and features a printing press tower that is 66 feet tall (four stories tall), newsprint packaging and newsprint storage warehouses, and shower rooms. Three different materials were used for the exterior: brick, white insulated panels, and concrete. Seven-hundred and fifty (750) tons of steel material was used in the construction of this facility. A multitude of windows were used for aesthetics and for the practical purposes of verifying print colors during production.
