Metro Community College Culinary Arts
The Metropolitan Community College Culinary Arts and Alumni Center was developed to serve the needs both on and off campus. This project was published in Concrete International periodical for its use in pervious concrete and LEED design.
The Metropolitan Community College Culinary Arts and Alumni Center is a 40,000 SF LEED project located on the Fort Omaha Campus. The project includes: culinary arts instruction, conference center, bistro, private dining, classrooms and offices, seven kitchens / labs, two theory labs, demo lab, ingredient kitchen, bakery, chocolate lab, production kitchen, catering, and a full service bar. Special features include: (high end finishes) interior and exterior copper and aluminum composite panels, full height glass curtain walls, wood panels, glass stairway, wood floors, stained concrete, granite countertops, engineered quartz countertops, quarry tile, porcelain tile, and glass tile. Additional site features include turning lanes for the new campus entrance, new drives, parking lot, and a new storm drainage to a 15,000 gallon storage tank for irrigation water.
