The construction of the Southern Valley Elementary School was completed in time for the 2008-2009 school year. A unique feature of this project includes an atrium-style commons area with a vaulted, exposed ceiling structure that students, faculty, and visitors see as they pass through the main entrance of the school.
The Southern Valley Elementary School was designed and constructed as a new facility adjoining the existing high school. A corridor between the two schools serves as the one thing that they share. The elementary school entrance opens to the atrium-style commons area with a vaulted, exposed ceiling structure that is flanked by the elementary administration offices. The large corridors direct you into the three-wing school which includes a new media center, a full-size competition gymnasium, locker rooms, and efficient art, music, and computer rooms that compliment the two-unit classrooms.
