The Husker Courtyards were all conventional structural steel with metal joists. The building was five stories tall, with the bottom four story areas structural steel with wood floor truss. Wood was used for the floor framing in conjunction with Gyp-Crete to help keep sound transfer between housing units to a minimum. Exterior of the building was clad with brick, stucco and limestone veneer.
