Citizens Medical Center

In 2010, the Citizens Medical Center project consisted of two building additions, totaling approximately 3,600 SF, along with interior remodeling for an additional 2,000 SF. The first is an addition to the existing physical therapy/occupational therapy department and included space for major mechanical and electrical systems upgrades. The second addition included the existing laundry services and renovations to existing adjacent areas.

A major portion of this project consisted of work in the new mechanical and electrical rooms. The project entailed removing and replacing the old chiller for the entire hospital, along with removing and replacing the old boilers. A new transformer, electrical service and fire service line with new PIV were also replaced. 

A key design element of this project was to match and blend the exterior and interior elements of the addition to the existing building. This will require matching the brick color and pattern, precast stone, windows, doors and parapet height. The building continued to be in full operation when phasing over new systems that impacted the entire building.
