Fremont Health Tower Expansion

Fremont Area Medical Center (Fremont Health) made the decision to transform the way they provide healthcare through the “building a healthy future” project. The project included a two phased hospital patient tower expansion and a three phased licensed skilled care facility, Dunklau Gardens.

The patient tower expansion improved and enhanced the facility, adding smart room technologies and delivering healthcare close to home. All construction activities took place on an occupied campus. The tower project totaled 91,800 SF and 49,500 SF of which was a new six level south addition, as well as 42,350 SF of renovations.

The expansion contains a new outpatient clinic with one fluoroscopy room. The third floor is dedicated to ICU, medical/telemetry and pediatrics, including 18 medical/telemetry beds, six pediatric beds and eight ICU beds. On the fourth floor you can find new Precious Beginnings maternity suites, featuring six private LDRPN rooms designed for custom mom and baby nursing care. The floor also includes one NICU bed, six joint center beds and 17 post-surgical beds. The fifth floor consists of the behavioral health unit, including 20 behavioral health beds. The sixth floor was built to allow for future expansion and flexibility.
