University of Nebraska - Lincoln Adele Coryell Hall Learning Commons

Sampson Construction completed a 32,000 SF renovation, 800 SF addition and 2.5 acres of site work on Love Library at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s City Campus. Building renovations included a complete MEP update to the North Learning Commons as well as a new exterior window system to the entire first floor, all of which took place while the 2nd floor of the library remained operational and available to students and staff. A testing center, Dunkin’ Donuts and a multitude of study opportunities with data ports throughout the building provide students with a comfortable, welcoming on-campus study facility available 24/7.

Although the building is accessible from each direction, the main entrance on the north side of the building showcases a two-story all glass vestibule. Additional features of the upgrade include private study and meeting rooms with electronic scheduling and reservation capabilities, rows of smart lockers in the testing center with a touchscreen kiosk tied into the N card system and an automated coiling fire door which seals off the Library’s terrazzo stairs outside of business hours. Sitework consisted of a courtyard addition to including stone seat walls, pavers, benches, commons areas, landscaping and outdoor lighting.
