Joslyn Elementary

Joslyn Elementary was originally built around the 1950's. This 2016-2017 multi-phased project consisted of an addition and renovation with a complete MEP and fire sprinkler upgrade to the existing facility, as well as a new roof and windows. The exterior work included a new playground and black top area with concrete upgrades to the existing parking lot.

Existing HVAC and mechanical heating equipment was removed and new heating equipment was installed during the cooling season. We converted the existing “cooling only” AHU to a heat only unit to maintain heat to the building in some areas. New AHUs and mechanical equipment were set in the existing mechanical rooms so new systems were ready for remodeled spaces and additions.

The project start was delayed due to a re-bid, however the project was completed on the original schedule of August 2017, prior to the beginning of the school year. The remodel phase started in May of 2016 and was completed in two months. The new addition was finished in February of 2017 and allowed the owner and students to move into the space. This gave our crew time to continue working on the remaining areas of the renovation.
