Lincoln High School

Lincoln High School was founded in 1871 and is the oldest of the six public comprehensive high schools in Lincoln, Nebraska. The current building opened in 1915 and more than 40,000 students have graduated from Lincoln High. Sampson Construction completed a renovation that includes approximately 425,000 SF and a 4,500 SF addition to the south end of this historical building. The entire project took place while the school was in operation.

A kitchen/cafeteria expansion with new equipment and restoring the original 1915 auditorium included new seating and seating layout, lights, rigging, sound system, drama studio and drama scene shop. The school library/media center received new roofing and restoration of the brick/terra cotta/limestone façade. The existing baseball field and existing parking lots were replaced with new facilities, along with replacing and adding trees and shrubs.

This addition included new mechanical and electrical systems, the installation of 520 active geothermal wells with room for 100 future wells, replacing the existing HVAC system with 150+ heat pumps and ductwork throughout the building and installing new HVAC systems for the pool, competition gym and two practice gyms.
