Shelton Public School

In 2013, the Shelton community passed a bond to complete a gymnasium addition and central office renovations to the existing Shelton Senior High School. The project consisted of fire alarm upgrades throughout the school, a 19,060 SF addition featuring a commons space and competition gymnasium and 2,300 SF of central office renovations.

The new construction is a pre-engineered metal building with a standing seam metal roof, while the commons space that includes restrooms and a concessions area, was constructed out of concrete block and structural steel. The façade of the commons space is brick veneer and has a fully adhered EPDM roof. One unique feature of the commons and restrooms area is a colored concrete floor, polished to a shine that will provide a low maintenance finish. The project also added 46,000 SF of concrete paving. All construction activities were completed in April of 2015.
