University of Northern Colorado University Center Ballroom Refresh

The Rocky Mountain Grand Ballroom is the largest space at the University Center on the University of Northern Colorado Greeley Campus. Our team was given a short window of time to complete the ballroom ‘refresh’ which consisted of asbestos abatement, selective demolition, removing and replacing mechanical systems, audio-visual equipment, wood flooring, ceilings, storefront windows, lighting and architectural finishes as well as the addition of fire protection.

Two sliding folding partitions were removed and replaced with partitions that enable the ballroom to transform from one large space of 68’x150’ to two or three individual rooms. The lighting and audio-visual systems were replaced with new state-of-the-art equipment. A new roof-top unit, along with new ductwork was added to the HVAC system. All new wood flooring was installed and finished, new walls were framed, drywalled and painted and accented by a new wood chair rail and base.

New ACT ceilings and a fire sprinkler system were also added. The existing storefront windows were removed and replaced as well as the installation of a window shade system. The existing building remained occupied during this fast-tracked renovation.
