WYDOT Douglas Transportation Complex

After eighteen months of construction, the Sampson team completed a new multi-use complex for the Wyoming Department of Transportation, situated on a 30-acre site east of Douglas, Wyoming.

The main building is 43,700 SF with a main floor and three small mezzanines. Included are vehicle repair/maintenance bays, wash bays, welding bays, vehicle storage bays and an office area. The repair bay is equipped with two vehicle lifts. Various crew and storage rooms are located within the vehicle bays.

The office area of the building provides the following services: highway patrol, driver’s licenses, engineering offices, reception, restrooms and conference room. In addition to the main building, there are three small metal buildings that include sand/salt storage (4,000 SF), bulk salt storage (1,860 SF) and an ice slicer (960 SF).

Other unique features on the site include a fuel station, weigh station that sends data to the office at the main building and brine maker with several chemical storage tanks and output lines.
